Mr. Guzzetta has been successfully trying cases in California courts and non-judicial venues for almost 20 years. He has extensive experience in all phases of litigation, from inception through discovery, summary judgment and trial. Mr. Guzzetta is also an expert in privacy law, and counsels clients on compliance with emerging privacy laws, cross-border data transfers and privacy issues in corporate financings, mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Guzzetta is the author of the leading treatise on California privacy law, The Rutter Group’s California Practice Guide: Privacy Law, which is published annually and available on Westlaw.com and in print from Thomson Reuters.

Experience

Prior to joining Grellas Shah, Mr. Guzzetta was an attorney in the cyber/data/privacy group at Cooley LLP. Before Cooley, he practiced as a litigator and privacy lawyer at Severson & Werson, P.C., Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, all in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Mr. Guzzetta earned his Juris Doctor degree from New York University School of Law in 2004, where he was named a Robert McKay Scholar. Mr. Guzzetta earned his bachelor of arts degree in Economics and Legal Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 2001, where he was awarded Highest Honors in both majors, and College Honors from Kresge College.
